The Surrey Striders are all qualified Nordic walking instructors who live and arrange regular Nordic walks in the beautiful Surrey countryside. They are all passionate about sharing this fun and social activity with others that not only improves health and fitness but emotional and mental wellbeing. Each instructor has their own Nordic walking schedules in different areas of Surrey and can offer taster sessions, beginner courses/workshops and Nordic walks.
If you’d like to be part of Surrey’s Nordic walkers, the team will be at the Surrey Hills Challenge to meet and greet and get people trying this health-promoting physical activity.
The Surrey Hills Challenge is one of the biggest sporting challenges in Surrey. One day, six walking or running events with six distances for people of all ages and fitness. All routes encompass some of the most picturesque views across the Surrey Hills along the Greensand Way and are designed to test participant’s stamina and strength.
*NEW* this year to the Challenge is the introduction of the Surrey Hills Festival of Sport which incorporates the finishers Event Village. The festival is a free entry event at Denbies Wine Estate, Dorking, where participants and spectators can see and experience all the fun and sports available in the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). From walking and running, horse riding and cycling to orienteering, yoga, woodland skills and climbing, as well as showing how accessible the Hills are for everyone, it’s open to all.
