All five routes encompass some of the most picturesque views across the Surrey Hills along the Greensand Way and now participants can enjoy more spectacular scenery as they wind their way through Denbies vineyards.
All the routes are designed to test participants’ stamina and strength. People of all ages and fitness can participate in five different running and walking challenges. The Greensand Way will form the backdrop where the super fit can face the ultimate challenge with ‘The Ultra’, a 60km run, ‘The Forty’ a 40km run or walk in the hills, ‘The Half’, no ordinary walk (or run) in the park of 21km, ‘The Ten’, a fast and furious 10km or ‘The Five’, a family challenge 5km event.
The Race Village at Denbies is where medals and prizes are awarded and is also the main hub and meeting point for all participants and their supporters. With refreshments and entertainment available from 10am until 6pm, it is the heart of the challenge.
Nancy Edwards, Race Director, Surrey Hills Challenge comments: “We are thrilled to be working with Denbies Estate to create a bigger and better Surrey Hills Challenge this year. Denbies is a fantastic location and not only allows us to create a central Village Hub, but has beautiful scenery and facilities and is a perfect location for our participants and spectators to finish and celebrate.”
The Denbies Estate, based in Dorking, Surrey, has been family owned and run since 1984. Denbies vineyard was planted in 1986, and since then has become one of the largest wine producers in the UK.
