Denbies Wine Estate
The Estate has been family owned and run since 1984, with the vineyard being planted in 1986. Since then Denbies has become one of the largest wine producers in the UK and now competes on an international level, including multiple gold awards for sparkling wine production, the first-ever gold for an English rose wine and most recently an international gold for Denbies Noble Harvest Dessert wine.
The vineyard is set in the Surrey Hills and includes seven miles of public footpath which trail throughout the vineyard. Denbies is open to visitors all year round and offers a first-hand insight into wine production in the UK through their tours and events programme. As well as superb indoor and outdoor tours, the vineyard also has two eateries, the Gallery Restaurant located on the third floor overlooking the 265-acre vineyard, and the Conservatory Resturant which offers the perfect al-fresco dining experience with breakfast, light lunches, hot lunches, cream teas and a children's menu.
Visitors can also pop into Denbies Wine & Gift Shop which not only sells the vineyards wine but has a fantastic range of gifts, stationery, interior room fragrances and additional collections of home interior accessories.
Also on site is the Village Green Farm shop selling a wide range of fresh local produce and groceries with a selection of seasonal vegetables grown in a Victorian walled garden on the Denbies Estate. Surrey Hills Brewery is open for a fresh pint straight from the cask and, if you want to make a weekend of it, then Denbies Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast offers a uniquely peaceful setting in the tastefully refurbished original farmhouse.
Denbies is located on the outskirts of the historic market town of Dorking, well known for antique shops, boutiques and a variety of restaurants and traditional Surrey country pubs. The vineyard is within an easy ten minutes walk of Dorking mainline station to London Victoria/Waterloo. Gatwick is a 20-minute drive/Heathrow Airport 40 minutes.
Denbies is the perfect base for those wanting to enjoy all the area has to offer.
